Pink grapefruit & gin lemonade
40ml gin
15ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
50ml grapefruit juice (ideally fresh)
Lemonade (or pink lemonade), to top up
(Optional: 7ml simple syrup, to taste)
Slice of grapefruit or lemon, to garnish
Fill a highball glass with ice and add your gin, lemon juice and grapefruit juice. Stir. Top up with lemonade and garnish with a slice of fresh grapefruit or lemon.
Tip: If you like your cocktails sweet, you could add a tiny amount (about 7-10ml) of simple syrup before adding the lemonade (or after, but you’ll need to stir really well to dissolve it).
You can buy simple syrup - also known as sugar syrup - online and in shops, but it’s much easier to make your own: just simmer 100ml caster sugar with 100ml water over a low heat for a few minutes until the sugar has dissolve and the liquid forms a thin, smooth, syrup.
