Limoncello, basil AND gin in one cocktail? This, you have got to try!

Limoncello and gin have to be one of our absolute favourite combinations. The sweet-tart lemon zest of limoncello is just the perfect complement to gin’s rich, complex profile.

Together, they can give you an incredible summer cocktail - like our gorgeous Limoncello Gin Fizz and our beautiful limoncello, basil and gin cocktail below.

For this cocktail, we love to use Astraea Spirits Meadow Gin, Craft Gin Club’s June 2022 Gin of the Month.

Astraea Spirits Meadow Gin’s mix of unique floral notes and touches of citrus are a delicious match for the herbaceous fragrance of the fresh basil and the sun-kissed zing of the limoncello in this cocktail. The lemonade then adds sweet fizz that’s so delectably refreshing. Yum!

Altogether, these ingredients combine to give you a cocktail that’s wonderfully bright and rich with flavours of Italy’s glamourous southern coastline, which is why we’ve called it an “Amalfitano”. Give it a go today!

Amalfitano

45ml Astraea Spirits Meadow Gin
15ml limoncello
25ml lemon juice
10ml Simple Syrup
60ml lemonade
8 fresh basil leaves, plus extra to garnish
Lemon twist, to garnish

Muddle your fresh basil in a cocktail shaker. Add your gin, limoncello, lemon juice and simple syrup, along with ice, and shake well. Strain into a highball glass and top with lemonade. Garnish and serve.
