Here, the gin's rich, delectably complex tones work brilliantly with the luscious maple syrup and its sweet, aromatic tones. The fresh lemon juice then adds that quintessential hit of bright sour that lifts the whole experience.
The star anise and cinnamon garnishes add a festive spice that is so deliciously inviting.
The egg white is optional in this sour recipe, but without it, you don’t get that pillowy foam top to rest your garnishes on, so we recommend sticking with it here. (If you don’t want to use the egg, skip the first shake and go straight to shaking with ice).
Cinnamon Gin Sour
60ml gin
30ml fresh lemon juice
15ml maple syrup
1 egg white
Cinnamon and star anise, to garnish
Add the gin, lemon juice, maple syrup and egg white to a shaker and shake well. Add ice and shake well again. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish, serve and enjoy!
