In fact, this pale gold flower - which heralds the arrival of spring in the UK - is the monarch’s favourite. Luckily, these little blooms open out just in time for her Royal Highness to celebrate her (real) birthday, on 21 April. The Primrose
50ml gin
50ml lemon juice
30ml Aperol
20ml Elderflower Liqueur
Dash of peach bitters
Combine the gin, lemon juice, Aperol, liqueur and bitters and stir. Strain into a coupe or martini glass and serve.
