The Curious Drinker exists for people who think there's always another great bottle out there - and want someone obsessive enough to go and find it for them.
We're a community of drinkers, makers and storytellers united by one idea: that the world of spirits is endlessly fascinating, and the best way to explore it is together.
How it started
Ons verhaal
Jon Hulme en John Burke , vrienden van de business school die ze ontmoetten tijdens hun studie in Madrid, kwamen op het idee voor de Craft Gin Club toen ze in een bar in Londen herinneringen ophaalden aan hun favoriete Spaanse gin-tonics.
Het duo richtte in januari 2015 de Craft Gin Club op met als missie om de manier waarop ginliefhebbers nieuwe gins ontdekken en ervan genieten opnieuw vorm te geven, en tegelijkertijd fantastische ambachtelijke producenten te ondersteunen. Ze konden zich de ongelooflijke ginreis die hen te wachten stond nauwelijks voorstellen!
In de zomer van 2016 verschenen Jon en John in BBC Dragons' Den , waar ze aanbiedingen kregen van vier Dragons. Uiteindelijk wonnen ze de investering van ondernemer Sarah Willingham, die nu nauw samenwerkt met het bedrijf als lid van de raad van bestuur.
Craft Gin Club mag zich nu de grootste (en volgens onze leden ook de beste!) gin-abonnementsclub van het Verenigd Koninkrijk noemen. Zelfs nu we blijven groeien, blijven dezelfde principes die Jon en John ertoe brachten het bedrijf op te richten, van kracht: kleinere, ambachtelijke distilleerders helpen een breder publiek te bereiken met hun fantastische producten en tegelijkertijd de beste gins ter wereld leveren aan de Britse ginliefhebbers.

Today The Curious Drinker covers gin, rum, tequila, whisky and more – through subscriptions, one-off cocktail boxes and gifts. We work with independent distillers, small-batch producers and brilliant mixologists to bring you spirits worth knowing about, and the know-how to enjoy them properly. We're only getting started.

Every bottle we send is hand-picked. We work directly with independent distillers and small-batch producers — people who care as much about what goes into their spirits as we do about finding them. No filler, no famous names for the sake of it. Just exceptional drinks with a story behind them.

We've spent over a decade building relationships with the makers behind the bottles – visiting distilleries, learning their craft, understanding what makes each spirit worth your time. When we talk about a spirit, it's because we've met the people who made it and think you should know their story too

Over a decade in and we're more curious than ever. And so, it turns out, are our members.
Over the past decade, The Curious Drinker community has grown into something we're genuinely proud of. Hundreds of thousands of members have discovered new spirits, shared their finds and made drinks they didn't know they were capable of. That community is at the heart of everything we do.
We've shared hundreds of cocktail recipes, from the simple and satisfying to the ambitious and surprising, along with expert tips to help guide curious drinkers to new heights, whatever stage they’re at on their journey.
We've also told the stories of unsung drinks heroes - the distillers, mixologists, and industry movers and shakers – helping to connect the people behind the bottles with the drinkers who love what they do.
